Here are the best ways to help you save on a car rental:

• A car can take you wherever you want to go — so can we. Compare the best deals from all the top companies in a couple of clicks.
• Organize an email Price Drop Alert for your next vacation destination. You never know what sensational bargains will whiz into your inbox;
• Before you pick up your car keys and jump behind the wheel, take a look at both airport and non-airport pickup and drop-off locations to make sure you're getting your hands on the cheapest deal in town;
• If your pickup and drop-off dates are flexible, try getting a better deal by choosing different days of the week in your search;
• See if you can keep your pickup and drop-off times the same. If you return your rental car at a later time than you picked it up, you may be charged a whole extra day;
• Sometimes rental companies reward you with discounts if you pay immediately, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these kinds of offers;
• It's best to make a reservation as soon as your vacation dates are set. The early bird gets the worm!

Minis are the smallest car you can rent, and generally, they're the most economical to run as well. This is exactly why they're such a favorite with visitors to Canary Islands. Cruise around the streets of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife — you won't believe the parking spaces you can squeeze into. Despite their size, minis offer a comfortable ride (just so long as you don't have too many cases!).From dunes to sandy shores and caves, Canary Islands features some dazzling nature. Why not hit the road and take in one or two of them? Hightail it out of the city and arrange some fun excursions. A full-size SUV is ideal for those longer drives. Built to cope with any kind of terrain, these larger vehicles make it easy to hop off the beaten path.
