If you find yourself with a bit of spare time and you don’t mind traveling 35 miles, take a look at Cluj County. This vibrant destination has lots of things to keep you busy. Hoia Baciu Forest, Statue of Matthias Corvinus and National History Museum of Transylvania alone make the drive out worth it. Locals are also likely to point you toward Baia Mare, 40 miles away. If you only have time for one attraction here, make sure it’s Stephen’s Tower. (But we’re also big fans of Romanian Soldiers Monument and Monument of the Heros.)
