If you’re looking for day-trip inspiration, we’ve got a couple of ideas. Situated 16 miles away, Novocherkassk is worth the drive. Don Theatre of Drama and Comedy V.F. Komissarzhevskaya, Novocherkassk Museum of the History of Don Cossacks and Ascension Cathedral alone justify the drive out here. Locals will also probably point you toward Taganrog, 55 miles away. If you only see one thing here, make sure it’s Chekhov House Museum. (But we’d also highly recommend Taganrog Museum of Local Lore and Chekhov Literature Museum.)
