With some terrific day trip options available in the surrounding area, renting a car makes good sense. Without one, it wouldn’t be half as easy to explore everything that Kislovodsk, 17 miles away, has to offer. Yaroshenko Memorial House Museum, Dacha Chaliapin Historical and Cultural Museum and Kislovodsk Dolphinarium alone make the drive out worthwhile. Locals are also likely to point you toward Nalchik, 45 miles away. If you can only find time for one attraction here, let it be Kovrik Nalchik Municipal Drama Theater. (But we’d also highly recommend Spartak Stadium and State Republican Music Theater of Kabardino-Balkar Republic.)
